Conservation, Sustainable Currency and Gifts of the Divine
On this website, I'm making a spiritual case for a sustainable currency. As a lifelong ecologist and conservationist, I've kept a quiet reverance toward nature...something my father taught me by action and deed.
Another thing that I picked up from my dad was an appreciation for the Story of Job. The story helped him get through many rough spots in life. For me, the story kept giving me new insights into our relationship with nature and the Divine.
In Gifts of the Divine I will attempt to show that the trading relationship that we have with the Divine---which evolved naturally as our species advanced and became more civilized---is misplaced. And, I argue that the invention of currency has allowed this "relationship" to foster unsustainable growth and place the emphasis on structure and not Spirit.
I also make the case that a sustainable currency based on the gifts of the Divine (forests, water, soils and biodiversity) will encourage us to move back into harmony with the Divine. It will also be a concrete demonstration of gratitude and compassion to all the folks around the world who caretake these gifts on their land.
As the story unfolds, I will tell you more.
